KATE HUDSON: I am Kate and you are Matthew.

MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY: We’re here in Paradise Cove [in Malibu] catching up on tape.

KH: We’re about to go see our movie, Fool’s Gold, for the first time. I’m nervous. [To the tape recorder:] He seems calmer than me. And we’re having a margarita and we’re talking about our lives and how well we have gotten to know each other over the years…. As a female, I’m just going to say, for the record, Glamour magazine, Matthew McConaughey is wearing a cream Western shirt, very simple.

MM: With snaps, not buttons.

KH: Mother-of-pearl snap buttons. Jeans, some very handsome brown boots and a cashmere cream beanie, which I might say is extremely complimentary. And he has a vintage brown jacket, 42 long.

MM: Burnt orange.

KH: It’s not burnt orange. That would be considered a camel, a dark camel. And he looks fine, fine, fine.

MM: Well, [Kate] is a rock ‘n’ roll hippie chick. She has got on her seventies jeans—tight to the thigh. And then big flares at the bottom. What kind of shoes you got on? She has on some rubber high-heel clogging pumps.

KH: They’re Yves Saint Laurent rain boots.

MM: Yves Saint Laurent rain boots.

KH: And they’re 18th Amendment jeans.

MM: She is posting 5’11”.
